Will y’all help me congratulate Sherri on the sale of her home! 🏡🙌

A couple of months ago, Sherri reached out to me thanks to one of my past clients turned friends, and from our very first conversation, I knew how important this move was to her.

Sherri had been living in Wadley, Alabama, but her heart was still back in Georgia near her family, friends, and church. She was tired of making the drive back and forth all the time, and even though she had only owned her home for about a year, she knew it was time to make a change.

She wanted to get home.

So we came up with a killer marketing plan and got to work.

We listed the property feeling excited and confident…

And then?
Crickets. 🦗

No real activity.
No big rush of showings.
Just a whole lot of waiting.

So instead of panicking, we dug in.

We brainstormed.
We tried some out-of-the-box ideas.
And through all of it, Sherri and I prayed.

One thing she specifically kept praying was:
“God, just send the right buyer. Even if we only get one showing… let that one be the buyer.”

And y’all… that is exactly what happened. 💕

We had one showing scheduled that actually canceled at the last minute, and then the very next showing that came through the house ended up writing an offer!

From there, everything moved so smoothly.

We worked through inspections and appraisal with only a couple of minor things coming up, and things went so well that we even got approval to close early! 🙌

Sherri needed a few extra days to finish moving, so we ended up closing just 3 days early instead, but after all the waiting and praying, getting to that closing table felt so sweet.

And the best part?

She’s finally back near the people she loves most.

She told me she’s now within 10 minutes of her family, friends, and church, and that alone made this entire move worth it. 💕

Sherri, thank you so much for trusting me through all the ups and downs of this process. Watching everything come together the way it did was such a reminder that sometimes all it takes is the right buyer at the right time.

If you’ve got kids, chances are your house currently looks like a summer camp exploded in it.

There are swimsuits hanging over chairs. Half-packed duffel bags by the door. Wet towels you specifically asked not to be left in the car. And somewhere somehow, one child always waits until bedtime to announce they need “all white clothes” for camp tomorrow morning.

We are officially in the thick of summer camp season.

And honestly, I kinda love it.

Because around here, summer still means kids packing suitcases for church camp, stuffing bug spray into backpacks, and heading out the door before the sun’s fully up. It means handwritten names on water bottles and mamas standing in the driveway yelling, “DON’T FORGET YOUR PILLOW!”

Some camps are already wrapping up. Others are just getting started. And now VBS season is rolling in right behind it like a parade of glitter crafts, snack rotations, and oversized church T-shirts.

It’s chaos. But it’s the good kind.

The kind where kids come home tired, sunburned, happy, and somehow starving even though you KNOW they just ate. The kind where they spend more time outside than on screens. The kind where they make memories they’ll probably still talk about years from now.

And if you’re still juggling schedules and trying to remember who’s supposed to be where this week, you are definitely not alone. Half of us are one missing flashlight away from losing it entirely.

But truthfully, I wouldn’t trade summers like this for anything.

Because these little small-town summers? They’re special. The church camps. The creek days. The cabin bunk beds. The late-night worship songs. The VBS performances where every child forgets at least one hand motion.

That’s the good stuff right there.

Anyway, if you need me, I’ll be digging through a pile of laundry looking for somebody’s camp T-shirt while mentally preparing to repack another suitcase by Sunday night.

If I don’t write it down, it’s not happening. Period.

Appointments, errands, things I need to remember, all of it goes in one place.

Because trying to keep everything in your head? That’s how you end up at the grocery store without the one thing you actually needed.

Find a system that works for you. Notes app, planner, sticky notes on your fridge… I don’t care.

Just don’t trust your brain to hold it all. It’s already got enough going on.

Will y’all help me congratulate Nick on buying his very first home? 🏡🙌

This closing means so much, not just because he found the perfect property, but because this dream has been a long time coming.

Nick and I have been working toward this moment for almost two years.

About a year and a half ago, we thought we had made it. We found a home, got all the way to closing day… and then everything fell apart at the very last minute.

That kind of disappointment is hard.
It’s frustrating.
It makes you question if homeownership is ever really going to happen.

So naturally, Nick took a step back.

But here’s what I love about his story: he didn’t give up.

A year later, he reached back out and said, “I’m ready to buy a home!”

This time, he knew exactly what he wanted for his first home: land, a barn, and room to spread out, but he was convinced it had to be in Georgia.

The challenge? Finding all of that in his budget.

We searched.
And searched.
And searched some more.

We even went under contract on one in Georgia! However, after inspections, it was clear it wasn’t the right fit.

The whole time, I kept telling him:
“Nick… just look right across the Alabama line. Trust me.”

He finally agreed.

And the very first house we looked at in Alabama? It was the one. 💕

It had the land.
It had the barn.
It had the space he had been dreaming about for years.

We went under contract, moved smoothly through inspections, and then hit one last hurdle: the appraisal didn’t go exactly as planned.

But by then, we had come too far to quit.

We worked together, found a solution, and closed the very next week. 🙌

Nick, I am so proud of you, not just for buying your first home, but for refusing to let one hard season define your story.

Sometimes the dream takes longer than we planned.
Sometimes the road has a few unexpected turns.
And sometimes… the answer is waiting just across the Alabama state line. 😉

So if you’ve been thinking about making a move, let this be your sign: don’t count it out. Your perfect place might be waiting for you here, too. 💕

Monday will be the most expensive holiday on the calendar.

Every hot dog, every burger, every spin around the lake, or drink with friends and family... is a debt... purchased by others.

This is not about all who've served... that day comes in the fall.

This one is in honor of those who paid in life and blood, whose moms never saw them again, whose dads wept in private, whose wives raised kids alone, and whose kids only remembered them from pictures.

This isn't simply a day off.

This is a day to remember that others paid for every free breath you ever get to take.
