Shari Chase’s sale of Thunderbird Lodge in 1998 was a landmark achievement—not only for Shari and Chase International, but for Lake Tahoe real estate history. Representing financier Jack Dreyfus, Shari orchestrated an extraordinarily complex transaction involving the historic 140-acre estate, government land exchanges, and ultimately the preservation of the Thunderbird property in public trust. The $50 million sale was, at the time, the highest price ever paid for a private residence in the United States, surpassing the previous record of $47.5 million for the Jack Warner estate in Beverly Hills.

Even more significantly, the transaction helped set in motion the preservation of one of Lake Tahoe’s most treasured historic properties. It established Shari Chase—and, by extension, Chase International—as a nationally recognized force in luxury real estate and demonstrated the level of vision, negotiation, and sophistication that would become part of the Chase legacy.

An Incline Village native, Michelle brings more than 20 years of real estate experience along with nearly three decades of executive leadership, organizational strategy, and management expertise. Her career has spanned the private, public, nonprofit, and higher education sectors, including leadership roles with the United States Senate. She also currently serves as Vice Chair of the Incline Village General Improvement District Board of Trustees.

Michelle brings an extraordinary combination of leadership, real estate experience, local knowledge, and genuine commitment to the community. We couldn’t be more excited about what she will bring to our agents, clients, and Incline Village office.
