💚 TEAM SPOTLIGHT: Meet KK!

Today we’re introducing Kayli “KK” Greene, part of our Men’s Shelter Security and Front Desk team!

At Good Neighbor, security means more than keeping a building safe. It’s helping create an environment where our guests can finally exhale, feel secure, and know they belong.
And KK is pretty amazing at doing just that. 💚

She brings the perfect combination of fairness, compassion, consistency, and just the right amount of “don’t try me.” 😂

KK believes everyone who walks through our doors deserves to be treated with the same grace and respect, and she works hard to make sure no one feels like an outsider.

And after responding to everything from tornadoes to Super Storm Sandy during her time with AmeriCorps... we’re pretty sure very little rattles KK. 💪

We’re grateful she’s here helping make Good Neighbor a place that feels safe enough to feel like home.

Help us show KK some love! 💚 We’re better together.

🏡 It’s National Good Neighbor Day!

Being a Good Neighbor means more than meeting a need today. It means asking, “What could be possible next?”

One of our biggest prayers is for an apartment complex of our own that we can manage and use to help our guests take that next step toward stability.

Because we don’t want to just hope someone finds housing.

We want to KNOW there is housing waiting for them. ❤️

Today, will you join us in praying BIG for what's next for Good Neighbor and the people we serve?

Happy National Good Neighbor Day! 🏠

Also, watch till the end to see if the upside down name tag makes sense. HAHA

🌟 TEAM SPOTLIGHT: Meet Paula! 🌟

As our Front Desk Supervisor, Paula helps set the tone for both our guests and our team. She loves creating a positive experience, helping solve problems, and making sure every person who walks through our doors feels welcomed and cared for.

One of her favorite parts of the job? Watching the women we serve reach their goals, from getting a car or their own place to simply seeing their lives begin to change in positive ways. ❤️

For Paula, honesty, respect, humanity, and compassion are non-negotiable.

And something you may not know? Give her a rainy day and a campsite, and she’s perfectly happy! 🌧️🏕️

We’re grateful to have Paula helping us be a Good Neighbor every day. She's such a blessing to our Women's Shelter! 💛

💚 TEAM SPOTLIGHT: Meet Tori Philliber!

Today we’re introducing Tori, our Women’s Shelter Manager!

At Good Neighbor, we know that getting back on your feet rarely happens in one big moment. More often, it happens through a whole lot of small wins that eventually become something BIG. 💚

And Tori gets a front-row seat to those moments every day.

From getting an ID or birth certificate, to saving money from that first paycheck, to taking another step toward permanent housing, Tori and our Women’s Shelter team get to walk alongside our guests as they rebuild stability one step at a time.

And if you spend any time with Tori, there’s a good chance your conversation will include a movie quote, an SNL reference, or a questionable accent. 😂

We’re grateful for the heart, humor, and compassion she brings to Good Neighbor!

Help us show Tori some love! 💚

We’re better together.

💚 Good News From Good Neighbor! None of us can do this work alone.

One of the things that makes Bartow County so special is the way our local agencies and nonprofits work together instead of working in silos.

At Good Neighbor, we don’t have every resource or every answer, and we don’t need to.

We have partners. 🤝

We share resources. We make referrals. We pick up the phone and ask, “Can you help?” And just as importantly, other agencies know they can call us too.

Because when we combine our strengths, our resources, and our relationships, our neighbors have more opportunities to get the help they need.

That’s how we make Bartow better. Thank you, The Compassion Center for coming and talking to us about real needs.

Not one organization doing everything, but a community of organizations doing their part... together. 💚

Follow or like to see more from us regularly!

💚 What if your business could help change a neighbor’s story? A little Friday Humor!

Good businesses build more than a bottom line. They help build strong communities.

We’re looking for local businesses to join Good Neighbor as Annual Business Partners and become part of the work happening every day to help individuals and families move from crisis toward stability.

Your partnership helps us say YES.

🏠 Yes to shelter.
🍽️ Yes to a meal.
🤝 Yes to support and resources.
🔑 Yes to the next step toward permanent housing.

And when businesses across our community come together, those yeses add up.

🎥 Take a minute to hear from Doug about our Annual Business Sponsorship and why your partnership matters.

Is your business ready to be a Good Neighbor? 💚

💚 TEAM SPOTLIGHT: Meet Alicia!

Today we’re introducing Alicia, our Men’s Shelter Manager!

Managing a shelter is about so much more than beds, schedules, and making sure everything runs smoothly. It’s about creating a place where men walking through a difficult season can find safety, structure, accountability, encouragement, and hope.

And Alicia gets to be right in the middle of that work. 💚

Every day looks a little different at the Men’s Shelter, but the goal remains the same: helping our guests take their next step toward stability and permanent housing.

We’re grateful for Alicia and the way she shows up for our neighbors every day.

Help us show our Men’s Shelter Manager some love! 👏💚

We’re better together.

💚 TEAM SPOTLIGHT: Meet Cindy Pate!

For many of our guests, Cindy is one of the first faces they see when they walk through our doors.

As our Intake Coordinator, Cindy meets people at a moment when life may feel uncertain, overwhelming, or simply hard. Her job may include paperwork and gathering information, but her impact goes far beyond an intake form.

She helps make sure the first message someone receives at Good Neighbor is:

You are seen. You are valued. And your circumstances do not define your worth. 💚

We’re so thankful for the compassion and heart Cindy brings to our team every day.

And if you hear a little 80s music coming from the intake area... now you know who to blame. 😂🎶

Help us show Cindy some love!

We’re better together. 💚

💚 What if we looked for strengths first?

It’s easy to see what someone is struggling with. Their circumstances. Their mistakes. The things they don’t have.

But what happens when we choose to see what they DO have?

Strength. Ability. Potential. Resilience.

At Good Neighbor and our partnering agencies, we don’t just want to meet needs. We want to help people recognize the strengths they already possess and build from there.

💚 Good Neighbor is feeling incredibly loved this week!

We started the week with volunteers helping clean and organize a shed at our Women’s Shelter and ended it with another amazing Yanmar Golf Event raising support for Good Neighbor. ⛳💚 Thank you to Yanmar America and to Harris!

Different kinds of generosity. One incredible community.

We told our friends at Yanmar:

Because you do what you do, we get to say “YES” to people who hear “NO” far too often.

Whether you give, volunteer, provide a meal, sponsor an event, or simply show up when there’s a need, you are part of every YES.

Thank you for loving Good Neighbor and the people we serve so well. 💚

We’re better together.
