As of May 3, 2021, the average rent for a 1 bedroom is currently up 22% in one year. A 3 bedroom median rental price is more than $1,500 per month. This is a 26% increase compared to the previous year. The median price in 2015 was $900 for the same 3 bedroom home. We are seeing rental rates on the rise again with only 59% of homes occupied by the homeowner. Tumacacori National Historical Park
Also known as San Jose de Tumacacori, built in the 1750s, located between Tucson and Nogales in the upper Santa Cruz River Valley in Santa Cruz County sits a 150-hectare site that preserves the ruins of three Spanish mission communities. The ruins have seen conflict and cooperation both shaped the history of the park where settlers, soldiers and European missionaries intersected with the Native O’odham, Yaqui and Apache people. After the mission was abandoned in disrepair by 1848, the mission and all of the surrounding Arizona Territory became part of the United States by the Gadsden Purchase of 1854. The area could easily have been forgotten, in 1908, Theodore Roosevelt declared the site Tumacácori National Monument, and restoration and stabilization efforts began. In 1990, the restored Mission San José de Tumacácori became part of the new Tumacácori National Historical Park.

Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument
Northeast of Flagstaff you can find the contrasting colorful cinder cones formed by extinct volcanoes and large expanses of lava and ash. Almost 1,000 years ago the Earth opened up, spewing lava and gases into the air, creating what we now call Sunset Crater Volcano. The 1,000 foot summit was closed in 1973 to prevent excessive erosion and instead enable a loop path around the formation and passes an ice cave (former lava tub) that contains permanent ice all year and refreshingly cool air. When visiting this unique area of lava rock you can plan the 34 mile scenic loop drive that winds from Highway 89 through Sunset Crater Volcano and Wupatki National Park.
