A couple of weeks ago I laced up for the 17th Annual TaTa Trot here in Casper, a 5K that raises money for the non-medical needs of cancer patients: the gas money to get to treatment, the groceries, the bills that don’t pause just because your life did.
I know, because I’ve lived it. I’m a stage 3 breast cancer survivor. I walked treatment halls while working, while showing houses, all while pretending everything was normal, because sometimes normal is the thing you’re fighting hardest to keep.
Today is October 1, the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So this is your annual reminder to schedule the screening, make the appointment, and don’t put it off.
To everyone still in the fight, everyone who survived it, and everyone we carry with us — this one’s for you. 🤍🎀
