That dandelion isn't a w**d. It's an emergency food supply.
Why it matters:
🐝 Blooms March-April - when nothing else does
🦋 First nectar source after winter (bees are starving)
🐛 Pollen = protein for emerging larvae
🌱 Deep taproot breaks up compacted soil (free lawn aeration)
🥗 Edible for humans (greens, flowers, roots)
The facts:
Bees emerge from hibernation March-April (need immediate food)
Most garden flowers don't bloom until May-June
Dandelions = gap filler (prevent bee starvation)
One lawn can feed 100+ bees daily in early spring
What to do:
✅ Leave dandelions in spring (March-May)
✅ Mow after they go to seed (if you must)
✅ Never use herbicides
Your neighbor's "perfect" lawn?
Zero bees. Zero life. Just chemicals.
Your "w**dy" lawn?
Saving pollinators.
