Home inspections; do you need one and how much will it cost? This point is argued everyday and you can probably find a pro and a con to fit every argument that is made. Personally, I am a fan and think you should get one. When you buy a home, its likely to be the largest investment you'll make in your lifetime. Wouldn't you want to make sure you've thoroughly vetted that investment? Costs can vary for the inspection fee (frequently $300-$500) but also may have follow-up costs for repairs. Talk to your real estate agent to better understand how to make sense of the inspection report and your options.

No doubt; its a tough market. With inventory down and interest rates up, its hard to think that now is a good time to buy, sell or invest. However, it may not be as bad as things appear with interest rates showing signs of coming back down and new home inventory slowly catching up to demand.
