For me, this vibe is a yes!

There is something comforting about old clay pots, weathered brick, and flowers that seem to spill over the edges.

No fancy tricks.
No perfect arrangements.

Just sunshine, a little time in the garden, and a porch that welcomes people to stay awhile.

The older I get, the more I believe beauty lives in simple things.

BTW~ 6 kg of gold is approximately 13 lb 3.7 oz.

"Gold endured when generations faded. Craft survived when names were lost.

History sometimes waits in silence, then reappears shining exactly as it was meant to be remembered."

Discovery of a six kilogram collar made entirely of pure gold has revealed one of the most striking examples of ancient Egyptian craftsmanship ever seen. Preserved for three thousand years, the collar remained untouched by time, soil, and corrosion, retaining the weight and brilliance it carried in antiquity.

This collar was not ordinary adornment. Such objects were worn by pharaohs as symbols of divine authority, power, and eternal rule. Gold held sacred meaning in ancient Egypt, believed to be the flesh of the gods and a material that never decayed. Wearing it connected rulers to immortality itself.

Crafted with extraordinary precision, the collar reflects advanced metalworking skills. Each section was carefully shaped to rest on the shoulders and chest, distributing immense weight while maintaining balance and comfort. Artisans understood both beauty and engineering, creating jewelry meant to impress gods and people alike.

Objects like this were often reserved for ceremonial use, royal appearances, or burial rituals. When placed away, they were meant to accompany a ruler beyond life, carrying status into eternity. Survival of such a piece without damage is exceptionally rare, making this reveal historically invaluable.

This collar matters because it restores presence to ancient leadership. It shows how power was displayed, how belief shaped design, and how material culture reinforced authority. It also reminds us that behind monumental temples and statues stood individuals who wore symbols of rule on their own bodies.

Gold endured when generations faded. Craft survived when names were lost.

History sometimes waits in silence, then reappears shining exactly as it was meant to be remembered.

In the real world, fortunately for me, these infrequent conversations have always been friendly! 😊

This is so true! Decades ago, the company I worked for used an in-house worksheet for applicants to rate themselves from 1-10, on a variety of attributes. The instructions clearly stated to not exceed a score of "X", which denied candidates the option to rate themselves 8-10 on every factor. Few noticed the value of this exercise.

Built in England, ten years ago!
It certainly captures those yester-year charms!

‘There is something about sitting in the gracious drawing room of this house that transports you to another world. The magnificent Palladian windows look out over a courtyard complete with the very soothing sound of a fountain that would surely make any Roman senator feel at home. Yet this is not Italy, it is south London and a house built no more than a decade ago.’ Take a tour: https://trib.al/U3zv7Ur
