Upgrading your front door can add significant value to your home. The return is much higher than the cost.

Overall, curb appeal can increase your home value to about 12% if you do it right.
•
Other curb appeal aspects worth improving are: landscaping, color/paint, windows, and roofing.
It’s not only about aesthetics either. Improving old doors, windows, roofs etc=improved energy efficiency.

There’s a lot of talk about how COVID-19 might affect home prices. What about Austin specifically??
Price is ultimately determined by supply and demand. How many houses are there vs how many people want to buy them? In Austin we have 1.4 months of inventory. Anything over 6-7 months is generally considered a buyers market, anything less = sellers.
Our inventory is very very low! This means it looks like homes will ultimately sustain their value. Some people still need to buy and sell, some people are choosing to wait. Either way, supply and demand point toward a continuing sellers market!

There are lots of reasons why this time is different than last time. The higher the index, the easier it is to get a mortgage.
During the housing bubble, it was very very easy to get one, now it’s harder to qualify.
