Starting Real Estate

I entered the real estate business owing to a poor consumer experience many years ago. Back then I worked with a very integral agent, although outside her farm area in the sale of my home. The title of this vignette may well be “Things you should not do in a real estate transaction”. Her representation was stellar. However, the agent for the buyer appeared at my front door the next day bearing freshly baked confections. He said my agent had under-performed, and that I should have gotten $25K more for my property. This was major stunting, and highly unethical amongst the esoteric. Then came the coup de grace: He would rebate a significant portion of his commission to me in my next purchase if I agreed to use a particular title company and lender. Sadly, I fell into the narrative. Perhaps an appropriate subtitle would be: “Lessons from the dark-side”. Fortunately, no deal ever closed using that agent. But, I learned a valuable lesson in integrity. Don’t do business with someone who reveals their character flaws regardless of how successful or expert they may be. His willingness to undercut another in his profession was very revealing. I told you at the beginning that I’m in this business because of bad consumer experience. Don’t you want to select a professional who Performs at a high level, and is also Integral, and has a high degree of Expertise in real estate? We call this the P-I-E promise. I stake by name on it. Performance, Integrity, and Expertise. I do this primarily by working in the background to provide industry best tools, and procedures to enable my agents to deliver a best in class experience to our clients. We only partner with the most professional and integral lenders, and contractors.
