Another one officially in the books!

Just like almost every real estate transaction, we had a few hurdles to work through along the way, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to help Patty get this place sold quickly and across the finish line! Did you know that if an appraisal comes back low and there are solid comps to support the purchase price you can request a reconsideration of value? It's true! This is one of those times we ran into this and we were able cross the finish line.

Wishing Patty, Meghan, and Drew nothing but the best as they start their new adventures in Tennessee! I hope this next chapter is an amazing one for all of you!

Okay, I realize these posts are getting a little redundant at this point. 😂 But apparently we decided to cram an absolutely ridiculous number of closings into one week, so here we are again!

And apparently, if you want to have a crazy week in real estate, the secret is simple: have your wife be due with baby #5 at the exact same time. 🤣

Stephanie’s due date is TOMORROW, so naturally, we’re still out here getting deals across the finish line. Nothing like a little added pressure!

But this one is especially exciting.

Adam and Rachel and I have been on the hunt since spring. We’ve toured a LOT of homes, considered building at one point, changed directions, and experienced plenty of ups and downs along the way.

After everything we looked at and considered, we finally landed on a fantastic home and property for their family — and I couldn’t be happier for them!

I’m incredibly grateful they trusted me throughout the entire process, and I can’t wait to see how they make this place their own and enjoy this next chapter together.

Well, this one was a journey! 😂

We had a TON of interest in this home right out of the gate, and within the first three days, we had no shortage of buyers wanting to call it home.

What I didn’t expect was to go under contract THREE separate times… only to have three different buyers change course before we could get to the finish line. In all my time of real estate, that was definitely a first! 😅

Through it all, the sellers handled the ups and downs incredibly well, and I felt for them every time we had to hit the reset button. But sometimes real estate has a funny way of working itself out.

Because in the end, it turned out we were just waiting for the right buyers.

The buyers who ultimately purchased the home couldn't have been a better fit. It landed right in the price range they were looking for AND got them into the school district they wanted. 🙌🏽

After everything it took to get here, it was pretty cool to watch all the pieces finally fall into place.

Congratulations all around to the sellers and buyers! It’s always a great day when everything comes together. 👊🏽🏡

Congratulations to Austin Hatfield & Madalyn Niemeier on their new home! 🎉🏡
We were on the hunt for what felt like a hot minute. Homes were getting scooped up left and right, and it seemed like every time we found a good one, it was already gone.
Then along came a For Sale By Owner property—and everything just clicked. The sellers were incredibly kind and wonderful to work with, and together we were able to put a deal together that worked for everyone.

Congratulations to Jill & Drew on closing on your beautiful new home! 🏡🎉
This one was definitely worth the wait. We missed out on a couple of homes along the way, but we kept pushing, stayed patient, and in the end found the one that was meant to be. I couldn't be happier for you both and am so excited to see the memories you'll make in your new home.

Now... before anyone points it out... yes, we technically closed on the 13th of this month. 😅 But who's really keeping track of Facebook posts anyway? Better late than never!

🎉 Better late than never! Congratulations to Peter & Kat on closing on their new home! 🏡

I'm about a week late to the party on this post, but that doesn't make me any less excited for these two and their family.

What's funny is that I actually met Peter and Kat's parents first through another listing I had earlier this year out in the Palisades. Somewhere along the way I learned that Peter and Kat were planning to move back to the area and were looking for the right place to call home. After checking out a few options, we found one that was exactly what they were looking for—a great house in a great location that's a perfect fit for their family.

I'm especially happy that they get to be back near family again. Although, after meeting what feels like half the town, I started joking that their family basically runs Mount Vernon. 😂

One of the unexpected highlights of working together was discovering that there are still other Lord of the Rings nerds out there. It's always nice finding your people. And after hearing them talk about it, I think I officially need to make a trip to Fabled and see what all the hype is about.

Peter and Kat, thank you for trusting me to help with such an important move. I'm grateful I got the opportunity to work with you both, and I can't wait to see how you make this house your own.

🎉 Congratulations to Jim & Sandy on closing on their lot! 🏡

This one was a lot of fun. Jim and Sandy were fantastic to work with, and I especially appreciated how much of a straight shooter Jim is. No fluff, no games—just straightforward conversations and decisions. It made the entire process incredibly efficient, which as a Realtor is something I can definitely appreciate. 😆

The funny thing is, this lot had been sitting on the market for a hot minute. But sometimes things work out exactly the way they're supposed to, because if it had sold sooner, it wouldn't have been available for Jim and Sandy when the timing was right.

And now comes the really exciting part—the house they're planning to build. Every time they've shared another detail, I've found myself thinking, "Yep... that's pretty much my dream house." 😂

So congratulations, you two! I can't wait to watch this project come to life and see the finished product.

One small request, though: if you ever decide to sell it someday, call me first. I'm officially claiming first dibs on buying that thing. 😉🏡

🎉 Congratulations to Jared and Serena on closing on their new home! 🏡

I swear, between the 20+ showings, a couple offers that didn't work out, and enough driving to make me feel like we toured every corner of Eastern Iowa, this one was earned. 😂

Like most home searches, it wasn't all smooth sailing. We navigated a few inspection hurdles, worked through some challenges, and had a couple moments where it would've been easy to get discouraged. But Jared and Serena stayed patient, trusted the process, and kept moving forward.

After all the miles they've traveled—not just around Iowa, but all the way from Salt Lake City to make this move happen—I couldn't be happier that we finally found the right place to call home.

Thank you both for trusting me to be part of the journey. Watching the two of you get the keys to a home that truly fits this next chapter of your lives is exactly why I love what I do.

Another closing in the books this week! 🏡

Raphael and Grace were another family I had the privilege of helping during what turned into an absolutely wild week of closings. Three closings total... four if you count the one where I represented both parties. 😅

One thing I quickly learned about Raphael and Grace is that their family gives ours a run for its money. They've got four kids, which puts us in the same league... at least until September when baby #5 arrives and we reclaim the title. 😂

We've been searching high and low for the right home for their family for quite a while. As anyone who's bought a house knows, the journey is rarely a perfectly straight line. There were a few bumps in the road along the way, but when Raphael found this house, he was all in. From that point forward, it was about making it happen.

I'm thankful they trusted me through the process, and I'm excited for them to finally be settled into a home that fits their family and all the memories they're about to make there.

Congratulations, Raphael and Grace! It was an honor to help you get to the finish line. 🥳

Apparently I've been seriously slacking on social media lately. 😅 Between helping buyers and sellers, keeping up with real estate, and getting our 3rd Airbnb ready to go, my nose has been firmly planted to the grindstone these last few weeks.
That said, I couldn't let this one slip by.

A huge congratulations to my friends Drew and Meghan on the successful sale of their rental property! This is a big milestone as they get ready for an exciting new chapter and a move out of state. While I'm definitely sad to see them leave Iowa, I'm incredibly excited to see what this next adventure has in store for them.
