🌞Real Estate is more than a transaction. It’s about connections that last. This last week, I was reminded of something that means the world to me. ☀️

👩‍❤️‍👨My bestest, longest friend, who moved out of state 6 years ago, came back home to visit. We have known each other for nearly 30 years. 👩‍❤️‍👨

😉 A Realtor who does yoga might be the best Realtor for you. 😉

Yoga can teach you a few things that come in VERY handy in real estate:

🧘 Stay grounded. The market can shift. Deals can get weird. Breathe. Stay grounded. Keep moving.

🌱 Be present. Yoga teaches us to pay attention to what’s happening right now — not what happened in the last pose or the one coming up. Same goes for buying or selling a home.

🤸 Stay flexible. Sometimes the plan changes. Sometimes the house you loved is gone. Sometimes the inspection says, “Surprise!” Flexibility helps.

🧠 Trust yourself. Yoga isn’t about forcing your body into a shape. It’s about listening, adjusting, and finding what works for you. Real estate should feel the same way.

And maybe that’s the Lautke way:

🛑 Fraud is on the Rise in Real Estate... and It’s Getting Creative.

Buying or selling a home is exciting—but unfortunately, it’s also become a target for scammers. Austin is a fraud analyst for a local credit union, so…
Here are a few scams we’re seeing more often:

💸 Wire & Down Payment Fraud Hackers can send fake emails that look like they’re from your agent or title company, asking you to wire your down payment to a fraudulent account.
Remember: Your title company will never email you last-minute changes to wiring instructions. If anything looks different, stop and call a verified phone number before sending money.

💻 Email & Zoom Scams Cybercriminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Fake Zoom invitations, hacked email accounts, and fraudulent requests for personal information can all be used to steal your identity or money.

🏡 Vacant Land Fraud Scammers impersonate property owners and attempt to sell vacant land they don’t actually own. Always work with a trusted REALTOR® and title company that verifies ownership before closing.

✅ Protect Yourself:
* Never wire funds based solely on an email.
* Verify instructions by calling a trusted phone number you already have.
* Double-check email addresses for subtle misspellings.
* Be cautious when clicking links or opening unexpected attachments—even if they appear to come from someone you know.
* If something feels off, trust your instincts and ask questions.

Real estate transactions involve some of life’s biggest financial decisions. A few extra minutes spent verifying information can save you from a costly mistake.
