All jokes aside… this job really keeps me on my toes 😅

1. Coffee = non-negotiable☕️

2. No pre-approval = we’re just out here catching feelings for houses we can’t have. And I refuse to let you get your heart broken like that. Also… in this market? You’ve gotta be ready to move. (P.S. pre-approvals usually last 4 months!)

3. “Zillow says…” I know, I know. But Zillow didn’t walk through the house, smell anything questionable, or see that DIY kitchen situation… but really, it can be a helpful tool, but it’s still just an algorithm. It can’t see condition, upgrades, or the nuances of the current market. Sometimes it’s close… sometimes it’s way off. That’s where a real human (hi 👋) comes in.

4. Me vs. the lockbox in front of my clients is a battle I don’t always win. Humbling. Character building you could say.

5. The appraisal coming in low… truly the plot twist no one asked for, and everyone’s least favorite surprise. For sellers, it can mean renegotiating or losing the deal. For buyers, it could mean bringing extra cash to the table or walking away. Not fun, but definitely something we plan for.

Real Estate isn’t always pretty, but I wouldn’t trade this job for anything. Ready to buy or sell? I’m always ready for you -> and I answer my phone 😉

No home has it all, and honestly, it’s not supposed to.

Most people start the home search with a long list of wants, a set budget, and a vision of how it’s all going to come together. And I love that! It matters.

But here’s the reality (in the most honest, not discouraging way): no home has everything.

As we start touring, things naturally shift. What felt like a “must-have” becomes a “nice-to-have,” and what really matters starts to stand out. How the home feels, how it functions, how it fits your day-to-day life.

And sometimes, the home that does check almost every box? It’s the one everyone else loves too. Multiple offers, quick timelines, tough decisions. And in those moments, there’s usually still a level of compromise, whether that’s price, terms, or expectations.

But that’s not a bad thing. It’s just the nature of it.

My job isn’t to find a “perfect” house, it’s to understand my buyers well enough to help them find the right one. The one that fits their life, their priorities, and what they can realistically and confidently move forward with.

Sometimes that means having honest conversations and helping reframe expectations. And no, that part doesn’t always feel easy, but it does lead to better decisions.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about getting everything. It’s about getting what matters most.🩵

I’ve been loving all the sunshine lately. There’s something about this time of year, especially in the Midwest, as we head into May. The gardens start coming back to life, flowers bloom, and everything feels fresh again.

After such a long stretch of dormancy, you gain a different kind of appreciation for spring. The trees, the grass, the flowers… even the dandelions make me smile 🤭

It reminds me a lot of life. The good moments wouldn’t feel the same without the hard ones. If we never experienced the seasons where things felt heavy, uncertain, or out of our control, we wouldn’t recognize how special the good times really are.

As much as we all want life to feel easy, calm, and joyful all the time, that’s just not reality. And honestly, it’s the contrast that makes the joy meaningful.

So I’ve learned to appreciate both, the hard and the beautiful, because they each serve a purpose for growth. And somehow, the difficult seasons make the good ones feel that much sweeter 🩵

Real estate has never been about sales for me, it’s about people.

It’s about helping someone find a home they genuinely love, feel comfortable in, and can confidently call their own. It’s about protecting my clients, making sure they don’t end up in a difficult financial situation, overlook something in a contract, or settle for a home that isn’t truly right for them.

I would rather show 30 homes to find “the one” than rush into a decision that doesn’t serve my client’s best interests.

So no, I don’t just sell houses. I advocate, I guide, and I protect.
