This government shutdown isn’t just D.C. politics — it’s hitting Colorado business owners right now.

Here’s how:
1. Cash flow pressure.
SBA loans, grant programs, and certain federal reimbursements are on pause. For some growing companies, that’s payroll, equipment, or expansion capital suddenly frozen.
2. Project delays.
Environmental reviews, permits, and government tenant payments are slowed or stopped. We’re already hearing from businesses and developers waiting on sign-offs or payments tied to federal agencies.
3. Consumer and client confidence.
A prolonged shutdown shakes markets, slows discretionary spending, and bleeds into local sales tax revenue — especially in service and retail sectors.
