😱 INTEREST RATES ARE GOING UP! 😱

It’s true… rates are going higher and it’s going to cost more to borrow money in 2022 and beyond.

BUT, we must view this all in context. Even if interest rates go up by 1% point, they will still be historically low compared to the last 50 years.

Also, higher interest rates should tamp down home value growth a bit.

Bottom line, don’t buy a house based on interest rates. Buy a home when you are financially ready with a down payment, emergency fund, and most debts paid off.

According to The House Designers, it takes 22 trees to construct the average single family home.

Going forward, in partnership with the National Forest Foundation, I am pledging to plant 100 trees for every home I help someone buy or sell.

By giving back, we will help keep our forests healthy, sequester our carbon footprint, and put back the trees taken to build our homes.

😡 WRONG 😡

Americans should own their homes, not corporations.

Across the country, hedge funds are buying up homes and driving first time homebuyers out of the market by making over-asking, all cash offers. Then, the hedge funds are renting those homes out to people who cannot afford to buy them.

Homeownership is the foundation to building inter-generational wealth. A “nation of renters” pulls the greatest wealth building tool out of the hands of the people.

I write this fully understanding that homeownership isn’t for everyone, and for those who it is, renting can be an important tool to build up a down payment or live somewhere short term. But, long term, most people are better off being a homeowner.
