Nor’easter Update Sept. 25th, 2026 @ 4:30 p.m.

The Town of Yarmouth is continuing to follow the forecast and conditions the Nor’Easter is bringing to the area over the weekend.

Primary concerns will be strong & damaging wind gusts, downed limbs & the potential for power outages, heavy rainfall, as well as coastal flooding and beach erosion.

Town operation updates are as follows as of this post:
- Yarmouth’s Golf Courses will be closed Saturday, Sept. 26th, 2026.
- Shellfishing is prohibited (EXCEPT conch and sea scallop adductor muscle), following a precautionary emergency shellfishing closure in effect statewide. This takes effect half an hour before sunrise on Saturday, Sept. 26th, 2026. It is in effect until further notice - keep an eye on the Yarmouth Division of Natural Resources page for the latest information.
- Bass Hole/ Grays Beach parking lot gate is CLOSED and will remain so until the flooding/storm subsides.

I love everything about this and we need something similar in Massachusetts! I was on the verge of homelessness too many times because I had two dogs and nobody would rent to me. Giving them up was NOT an option but I was also privileged to have family that would take me in when I couldn't find a rental.   Have you ever struggled with housing due to your furry family members? 

What if keeping your home meant giving up your pet?

For thousands of New York families, that's not a hypothetical. It's a reality they face every time they search for a place to live.

Mayor Mamdani is pushing back on that. He's advocating for the expansion of pet-friendly housing across New York, saying that no family should ever be forced to surrender an animal simply because of a rental rule.

His argument goes beyond convenience. In a city already navigating a housing crisis, pets aren't a luxury. They're part of the household, offering companionship, emotional stability, and in many cases, genuine therapeutic support to people under serious stress.

When families are displaced or stretched thin, the bond between a person and their pet can be one of the most grounding things they have. Separating them doesn't just cause heartbreak. It removes a source of real, daily comfort at the moment people need it most.

By creating more inclusive living spaces that welcome animals, policymakers aren't just updating rental rules. They're acknowledging that healthier communities are built when families stay whole, and that means every member of the family, including the four-legged ones.

This is the kind of policy shift that changes lives, and it's long overdue.

I love it when somebody else does the research for me. This is a map of which states are safest or most dangerous for the LGBTQ plus community to travel to or live in.

Grateful to live where it's green. If you need to relocate I know safe agents across the United States! 

The 2026 Gay Travel Index just dropped, ranking the safest and worst countries and states for LGBTQ+ travelers. And honestly, the most jarring part, for us as a gay couple, is seeing how far the United States has fallen. Just look at this map. 😱 The states in red are some of the worst places for q***r people and travelers right now.

1740 😍 I know compared to Europe we are absolute infants however I do love living in New England and the history in the homes we have here. I lived in a house from 1820 and I remember my mom saying well it has been standing for almost 200 years pretty sure it'll last! New construction doesn't hold a candle to it.
