We have been doing some reading lately about the housing market in general. According to the info just read, the forecast for the rental market is on a steady rise. It also said that overall home ownership is still flat to slightly down. The reasoning is the banks have tightened the standards for lending money for people to purchase homes in the last 5 years or so. So, many of the millennials, many of whom are underwater from student loans, are turning to renting as an avenue to get started in the housing market until they can pay down debt and save enough for a down payment. On the other hand there are still many avenues of financing that have as little as 3.5% down for those interested in purchasing. We have been blessed with the chance to acquire 2 more houses this next week. We work with people to secure housing that need a place to rent or a lease option to purchase possibility. The housing market in our area has switched now from a buyers market (more houses than buyers) to a sellers market (more buyers than houses). This is leading to higher prices for homes in all areas. If you are interested in selling your home or know of anyone that would like to sell their home just let me know.
