Last week taught me a (tough) lesson…
It’s my busy season, which means working from sun up to sun down:
- 3 roof washes
- 6 house washes
- 5k ft concrete cleaning
Throughout these projects I was challenged with small “tests” that compounded into an avalanche of a mentally demanding week.
To put the icing on the cake, the axel of my truck holding the hitch had snapped off whilst pulling my trailer, separating one from the other (in the busiest intersection of Aurora)
It was a morale shattering moment for me.
(Don’t get me wrong, I’m blessed and grateful to have these problems)
Running a business is tough… Especially as a 21 year old. But it’s what I signed up for!
I managed to get my truck and trailer to a low-key parking lot thanks to the help of 2 gentlemen, and waited for my dad to arrive.
In my hours of solitude, I reminded myself of the Japanese proverb “Nana korobi, ya oki”
It means: Fall down 7 times, stand up 8.
I wanted to share this with proverb with those who are feeling knocked down in life, and remind you that you are a walking testament of resiliency.
I believe true success is defined by one’s commitment of pursuing their highest human potential (which is a lifelong journey)
So this is a reminder, to keep showing up for yourself and be the example for your family, neighbors, and community.
No matter how small and insignificant you think you are, you have the power to make a difference.
A message from your friendly neighborhood pressure washer.
