The City of Chicago has introduced the HomeGrown Purchase Assistance Grant, a new program launching June 8th that provides up to $70,000 toward down payment and closing costs for qualified buyers.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬:

✦ Up to $70,000 in grant funding (non-repayable)
✦ Available on existing homes across all Chicago neighborhoods
✦ Household income up to $182,250 qualifies (family of 4)
✦ Covers 1–2 unit primary residences
✦ HUD-certified homebuyer education required
✦ 5-year occupancy commitment

Grant amounts are determined by neighborhood zone, up to $70,000 in higher-priced areas like Lincoln Park and Lake View, and up to $50,000 in communities like Englewood and Roseland.

Funding is limited to $21 million, with an estimated 300–400 buyers served.
