The City of Chicago has introduced the HomeGrown Purchase Assistance Grant, a new program launching June 8th that provides up to $70,000 toward down payment and closing costs for qualified buyers.
๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฆ ๐ก๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐ฌ:
โฆ Up to $70,000 in grant funding (non-repayable)
โฆ Available on existing homes across all Chicago neighborhoods
โฆ Household income up to $182,250 qualifies (family of 4)
โฆ Covers 1โ2 unit primary residences
โฆ HUD-certified homebuyer education required
โฆ 5-year occupancy commitment
Grant amounts are determined by neighborhood zone, up to $70,000 in higher-priced areas like Lincoln Park and Lake View, and up to $50,000 in communities like Englewood and Roseland.
Funding is limited to $21 million, with an estimated 300โ400 buyers served.
