Please help us welcome a new summer intern to the Land Management team, Nathan Spangler!
"My name is Nathan Spangler. I will be a senior at the University of Illinois this fall in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. I grew up on a family farm near Bushnell in west-central Illinois, where we raise corn, soybeans, and beef cattle. At school, I am active in FarmHouse Fraternity, as well as an Orange Krush leader during basketball season. I’m also active in Collegiate Farm Bureau, Hoof n Horn, and Field and Furrow. During high school and early college, I enjoyed FFA and was a national finalist in Diversified Crop Production and earned my American Degree. I’ve completed internships with Precision Planting’s Precision Technology Institute Research Farm at Pontiac, and with United Prairie in Tolono. On campus, I work on the University Beef and Sheep Field Research Farm and have worked for local farmers during the fall. Back home, I am involved in my church, and I enjoy spending time with my family, working on my family’s farm, and caring for my herd of cattle."
