Today, we brought another 68 precious beings from Ridglan Farms to Dane County Humane Society. For each of these dogs a new life begins today. Some are scared. Some are shy. Some are the most cuddly being imaginable. Some upon touching grass for the first time in their lives had the most adorable cases of the zoomies ever seen.

We are beyond grateful to our teammates from Dane County Humane Society, Beagle Freedom Project, Wisconsin Puppy Mill Project, and the Wisconsin Federated Humane Societies. We are also grateful for the incredible network of shelters and rescues in Wisconsin and surrounding states that are giving these beagles a chance at that new life.

For every new beginning there has to be an ending, and we are working to make the end of animal testing a reality. You can help by contacting your senators and representative in Congress and asking them to support the FDA Modernization Act 3.0.

As the fire closed in, a woman stood trapped on her balcony, screaming for help with nowhere left to go.

Then something unexpected stepped out of the smoke. Security footage shows a chimp emerging from the nearby woods as flames crept closer. With no time left, the woman made an impossible choice, she lowered her baby toward the only help in sight.

The chimp understood. It took the baby gently and disappeared back into the trees just moments before the fire reached the building. When firefighters finally got the woman out, she searched frantically, convinced she’d lost everything.

Then the chimp came back. Out of the smoke, it returned carrying her baby unharmed. She collapsed, crying, thanking an animal she never thought would save her life. Some say it’s fake. Others argue the details. But one thing stuck with everyone who watched it: Empathy doesn’t belong to humans alone.
