WeSERV's Government Affairs Forum members went behind the scenes at the Maricopa County Tabulation and Election Center (MCTEC) for a firsthand look at how elections are run in Arizona's largest county and one of the largest in the country.

Thanks to Maricopa County Recorder Justin Heap and his office, members toured the tabulation floor with Ilene Haber, who walked us through every step of how ballots are processed and secured. The group also learned about the checks and safeguards built into the system and had the chance to ask candid questions about common voting myths.

This November, Maricopa County voters will decide on Proposition 413, a proposed 20-year extension of the county’s public safety sales tax.

Thank you to everyone who joined WeSERV for Roots & Rooftops: Historic Preservation and the Future of Litchfield Park!

We were grateful to host Litchfield Park Councilwoman Suzanne Allen and Mary Dickson of the P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center for a thoughtful conversation on how the city can protect its character and history as it continues to grow.

Councilwoman Allen shared a local government perspective on balancing development with preservation, while Mary highlighted the Heritage Center's work safeguarding the stories, artifacts, and historic sites that make Litchfield Park unique. Together, they explored current preservation efforts and the role residents and REALTORS® can play in honoring the city's roots as it builds toward the future.
