Kona, Hawaii has my heart! ❤️

Yes, you saw that right — that was a highly endangered, endemic Hawaiian Monk Seal 🦭 They are super rare but I have been very lucky to have ran into several on my dives! Only other fellow divers will understand how incredibly rare that is!

These guys have been in the news a lot lately. Hawaiian Monk Seals are protected and monitored very closely to ensure their population is not declining — in fact, we as divers always report sightings of Hawaiian Monk Seals to the NOAA Marine Wildlife Hotline 🌊

We visited the Queen Creek Olive Mill for the first time and it did not disappoint! 🫒

This farm boasts a whopping 12,000 olive trees on their 100 acres and makes amazing extra virgin olive oil. The olives are not sprayed with pesticides either which is a huge plus.

After the tour, we grabbed wine, lunch and some goodies. Their shop offers an amazing selection of olive oils, balsamic vinegars, pastas, olives and much more for yourself or as a thoughtful gift.

We sat outside with our lunches and enjoyed live music — it was a wonderful experience and I only regret we didn’t visit sooner!

Kylie attended her first Horse Camp this summer! 🤩

✨ 3 THINGS TO DO AS A NEW AGENT ✨

I often get asked what I did/do to build my business through the years. If I was a new agent, these are a few things I would focus on to get the ball rolling:

1. READ YOUR CONTRACTS & GET EDUCATED.

Yes, that means not hiring a TC before you are very well-versed in all of your contracts. You are doing your clients a disservice by not knowing your contracts but still expecting them to sign all of them.

Additionally, the bar to enter real estate is extremely low. To become more knowledgeable and therefore more valuable, invest in further educating yourself. I completed my GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) education which continues to give me a huge advantage over my competition. There are so many classes, certifications and designations offered!

2. REACH OUT TO SUCCESSFUL AGENTS AND BROKERS.

You don’t have to remake the wheel — many agents and brokers are happy to meet with you to talk about their path to success. This path will be completely different for everybody and you can gain some value and perspective from each person you meet with. Reach out to me if you’d like to meet for coffee! ☕️

3. GIVE THE UTMOST CARE TO YOUR CLIENTS.

This might sound like common sense but unfortunately I have noticed (and heard stories) about nonexistent client care. As their fiduciary, your clients are trusting you with one of the biggest decisions of their lifetime — respect the opportunity and always offer your time and attention to detail to ensure your client’s experience is top-tier. Offering the best care also ties into contract proficiency and further education. Real estate is a relationship business — an excellent client experience creates organic marketing and therefore referrals. It’s really that simple.
