My mom. The most beautiful soul in the world. She radiated light when she walked in a room.

I try not to mourn but rather celebrate how incredible she was. I am a mother now. It’s up to me.

I yell too much. I suck at cooking. Our mornings are always rushed and no time for stories at night a lot of the time. I bathe them with baby wipes sometimes and let them eat cereal for dinner. I swear in front of them sometimes and sadly we have not seen a pediatrician in over 4 years. My kids are a huge part of all our parties, they have watched us moms dance on tables and done shots of tequila. (They do shots of sprite) We do homework last minute and I usually drop the ball on half the s**t my kids are involved in.
I must say though that as their mommy, I do love hard. So hard. My kids never have to question that.

Throughout all my kids experiences in their journey of life they will never have to wonder about my love for them.
They may have eaten ramen and corn dogs 3 times weekly (for 5 years straight) but they are loved.

Today I'm celebrating love. My moms love, my love, my children’s love.
I can't cook chicken without drying it out and I sure as s**t can't replicate my moms pork and dumplings but I can love hard. Thank you mom for teaching me the fundamentals.
Because at the end of our rope, and the end of life they won’t talk about my chicken, they won’t talk about the fact that I’m always 5 minutes late to everything. They will talk about love. They will feel love.

And really at the end of our days all that really matters is to love and to be loved.

We are all in this virtual teaching thingy together. We are trying to keep some normalcy and I’m not normal world. Forgive yourself as a parent.
You may not have the perfect teaching space with all the same desk tops, you might not even have time to help them because you’re trying to keep afloat a mortgage. You might be trying to clean the house, or pay bills or do laundry during schooling your child. I could polish of a bottle of tequila trying to just log into 3 different kids websites.
