I’m excited and honored to have been selected to be part of the Chandler Chamber’s Leadership Institute, Class 41!

On our Government Issues Day, we sat in a small group with state and city leaders as they shared updates on current priorities—including the budget—and we had the chance for real back-and-forth conversations on topics that matter to us.

Senator JD Menard led us through a mock session at the Senate Chambers, where I got to vote electronically while seated at Senator Lauren Kuby’s desk. (I showed great restraint by not helping myself to the chocolate-covered espresso beans on her desk! 😆)

The “big decision” of the day? Passing a mock bill to change the Arizona state mascot to the scorpion! 🦂

Having owned a small video editing business in another lifetime, I was especially excited to tour Chandler’s City Hall media studio and check out the incredible equipment they use to produce videos and podcasts. Kudos to Mayor Kevin Hartke for bringing true Hollywood-level talent to the city’s event videos! 🎬👏

Grateful for the opportunity to learn, connect, and grow through this program.
