For a long time, I couldn’t bring myself to make this post. The pain was just too deep. Anyone who has loved a dog knows they’re never just a dog, they are family, your shadow, your comfort and loyal companion.
Toby was all of that and so much more to me. He was my fur baby, my loyal friend, and my little healer who came into my life when I needed him the most. I rescued him, but he truly ended up rescuing me.
He filled my days with unconditional love, silly moments, cuddles and those quiet peaceful times that were so healing and the type of happiness and joy that only a dog can give. Losing him left a space in my heart that will always belong to him.
Today, instead of only feeling the loss, I’m choosing to celebrate the love, memories and incredible bond we shared. I will always be grateful that our paths found each other.
