2021 marks my sixteenth year, serving my home state of Virginia as a licensed REALTOR. It’s been quite the journey, surviving the crash of the housing market, to the current challenges of low inventory combined with increased buyer demand. Real Estate is an incredibly high paced, multi-faceted business. Understanding the processes, obtaining great communication and negotiating skills, being organized and able to multi-task are essential to providing clients with a smooth transaction. Attention to detail, forward thinking and troubleshooting skills come with years of experience and are critical to mastering contracts and client relations. This closing took us back a bit! This was our very first listing that has sat on the market for any considerable amount of time in MANY years! Quite honestly, it didn’t feel very good! Like most Realtors and Sellers, we had all grown accustomed to listings going active on Friday and having contracts in hand by Monday! Whew! This one took us back to a dose of reality, a time when the market is more balanced, homes need to show their very best, and buyers are taking their time to select the right home for their purchase. Realtors need to be experienced and on top of their game in this market now more than ever!

Summer is always the slowest selling season...we know! You would think that would be winter, but that’s not the case! Families seem to check out during the summer months after the long school year. Between vacations, pool days and then the back-to-school month of August, it makes summer the slowest selling season in every market!

Sorry, summer, but we are kind of glad to see you leave and are looking forward to the market picking back up in the fall!

To our sellers, who persevered through the summer slump with us, thank you so much for your patience with us and the process!! It has been a joy to serve you and your family, and we are so thankful for a successful end result! , , ,
