Update on my efforts in NC.
After two trips, one to Weaverville (supply hub) and one to Banardsville (workers hub) one thing is sure - these places are changed forever, along with the many many other little towns (not just Asheville and Chimney Rock).
It’s evident- There’s nothing that can stop the raging power of water; not bridges, not houses, not huge metal railings - all seen in mangled piles along the now, much wider, sometimes changed paths anywhere there was water (which is everywhere, as you know, if you’ve ever visited). They say it’s even worse 10 miles up the road from where we were today. I can’t imagine.
They are still finding people stranded up the mountains because their road was washed away. Please continue to pray for all these people affected and for the people that have been called (by their hearts) to help.
YES the need is still tremendous for more specific items.
Chainsaws and chains, all types of fuel, propane, heaters and generators ) The other issue is getting them there and that's where I have done the most good.
Most areas have enough daily-living donations at the moment (food, clothes, etc).
As for the pictures,
meet Tim. A local guy that has taken on the tremendous task of coordinating donations and work crews. It all started by him offering water to his neighbors from a spring on his property!
I am working directly with Tim to feel his needs as best we can.
If you feel the need to donate or get involve please let me know. Monetary Donations can be sent to my Venmo or call me directly.
Or dropped off at Douglas and Cannon Real Estate in Chapin.
THANK YOU to those that have contributed.
