Property Taxes are due -despite Coronavirus!
Last month the Delinquent Tax sale auction took place on November 16th,2020 at the Conference center in North Charleston.
Over 1000 real properties were up for auction due to unpaid tax bills. Despite the fact that these are properties that were over a year behind on their property taxes, the Covid pandemic certainly did not help those homeowners in their financial difficulty. In fact, in most states there was no relief from property taxes as the funds derived from those taxes are essential to public services and in addition to enact any change would require legislative changes which were just not possible.
In addition, property owners in Tri-County area are looking at further property tax increases in 2021 to make up for budget shortfalls!
If you are in this unpleasant situation where your property was sold at auction - all is not lost.
