🎉 Part 2 of our Juneteenth Community Celebration Series has officially concluded! 🎉

A heartfelt thank you to all of the residents, family members, friends, and community partners who came out to celebrate with us. We enjoyed an afternoon filled with great food, fellowship, laughter, and meaningful connections as we honored the spirit and significance of Juneteenth.

From hamburgers and hotdogs fresh off the grill to conversations that brought neighbors together, this event was a wonderful reminder of the strength and unity within our community.

Thank you for helping make this celebration a success. We appreciate everyone who joined us and look forward to continuing to build a stronger community together.

In observance of Juneteenth, our offices will be closed on Friday, June 19. We will resume normal business hours on Monday, June 22, at 8:00 AM.

Today, we remember the Emanuel Nine and honor their enduring legacy on the 11th anniversary of the events at Mother Emanuel AME Church.

• Rev. Daniel Simmons Sr.

These nine individuals touched countless lives through their faith, leadership, service, compassion, and commitment to their communities. Their legacies continue to inspire and unite us.

We especially remember Commissioner Cynthia Graham Hurd, whose dedication to public service and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of others left a lasting impact on the Housing Authority of the City of Charleston and the community she served with distinction.

As we reflect on their lives and legacies, we remain committed to strengthening our communities, supporting one another, and carrying forward the values they embodied each day.

Gone but never forgotten. We remember their lives, honor their legacy, and celebrate the impact they continue to have on our community.
