5 questions every first-time real estate investor should ask before buying their first property.
Most people skip straight to "what's the price?" That's mistake #1.
Here's what to actually ask:
1️⃣ What is the monthly cash flow after ALL expenses?
Mortgage, taxes, insurance, maintenance, vacancy — if the numbers don't work on paper, they won't work in real life.
2️⃣ What is the neighborhood's 5-year trajectory?
A cheap property in a declining market is a trap. Look at job growth, population trends, and new development nearby.
3️⃣ What's my exit strategy if things go wrong?
Can you rent it? Sell it? Refinance it? Never buy without knowing how you get out.
4️⃣ Am I buying with emotion or with data?
Falling in love with a property is for homeowners. Investors fall in love with the numbers.
5️⃣ Do I have the right team around me?
A great agent, lender, property manager, and mentor can be the difference between a great deal and a costly mistake.
At Stallion Equity Management, we help investors ask the right questions — before they write the check.
