Why do I have so many pictures of Tallulah? Because she looks different than she did three seconds ago. And no, I don’t need to delete any of them.

That little head tilt, those sweet eyes, her big personality… how am I supposed to pick just one?

I love this girl more than words can say. She makes ordinary days special, keeps me laughing, and fills my heart in a way only a dog can. Each picture holds a little memory of our life together—and I love having every single one.

Apparently, we don’t need a driver to have a good time.

We took a Waymo through San Francisco, and I don’t know what was funnier—the ride or our reactions! Watching the car drive itself with nobody behind the wheel was the strangest feeling. We laughed SO hard. Definitely an adventure!

Would I do it again? Absolutely. Would I still think it was weird? Also absolutely.

Folklore Friday: Johns Island’s Headless Horseman

Sleepy Hollow isn’t the only place with a headless horseman.

On Johns Island stands Fenwick Hall, a historic house with a legend that has followed it for generations. The story tells of a young woman named Ann and a groom named Tony, whose romance ended tragically.

Some versions say Ann’s voice can still be heard calling Tony’s name inside the house. Others say a headless rider crosses the marsh on moonlit nights, searching for her. These are versions of the legend, not documented events. The house itself—and its connection to Johns Island’s horse breeding history—are real.

I’ve spent years working with historic homes, and stories like this are part of what makes the Lowcountry endlessly fascinating. Would you tour Fenwick Hall after dark?
