This is a trash can.

This little guy was one of the biggest points of conversation in a recent deal.

The current home has been empty for several weeks and neighbors and contractors have been using this trashcan. No one takes it to the curb, just packs it to the brim.

Since we close the day after trash pick up, I’ve driven across town at 6:00am to make sure the new owner has an empty trashcan and fresh start. Details matter.

“You will become more than your title.”

The astronauts of Artemis II are far more than their titles. They each have their own talents, skill sets and passions. Some are gifted in science, some in math , some in engineering, etc. They each have their own interests outside of being an astronaut as well.

Very similar to an astronaut, realtors become more than their titles. This week alone I’ve been an interior decorator, a handyman, a therapist, a dentist and a pest inspector. I wouldn’t change any of it….except the dentist part.

If you’ve made it this far and you’re asking yourself, “did he just equate realtors to astronauts?”, yes I did. Of course I’m being facetious, but your guy needed content today and spaceships are always cool.

“What have I learned?”

This is a question I attempt to circle back to at the end of each day.

As we come closer to closing on another home, I love to audit the process. What went well, what new strategy/practice did I try, what failed? Would my client have the same perspective of the deal as I did?

Whether serving you as a buyers or sellers agent, know that I am always seeking better and more effective and efficient processes. This continued pursuit benefits all parties and I welcome the challenge/opportunity.

Closing day, here we come!

“It’s a process of hurry up and wait.”

Just like the anticipation of flowering blooms and first fruit buds appearing, real estate is very much a game of hurry up and wait.

Things we’ll want to do pretty quickly, but we’ll need to wait on others:

- Delivery and acceptance of initial offer

- Loan application and funding

- Repair requests and negotiations

Like most, I like a smooth and steady pace, but I continue to remind myself I can only control what I can control…sometimes.

We’ve waited months for Spring, let’s soak it all in.
