This closing is very special to my heart.

Every Agent, at some point, has a client that is completely unreasonable and the whole think tanks despite all you do to hold it together. It is heartbreaking. You take it personal. You cry. You question your ability, you replay the entire skit over in your mind wondering what you could have done differently. You think about throwing in the towel as an agent.

Then…

You have another opportunity, almost identical scenario. You aren’t sure you want to do it but you remember who you are, what you are capable of, and you are hellbent on your own redemption.

I want to give the Salinas family a very special THANK YOU. This was so much more than an opportunity for me, it was a defining moment. Not only did we get well over our bottom line during a significant downturn in the economy, we were up against a top producing agent with many accolades. There were so many A-ha’s that reassured me I was on the right track, and a few teachable moments I was able to pass on to a veteran agent (brushing my shoulder lol), and definitely she to me.

I have always said that it really only takes one person to believe in you to change the course. This is true of the Salinas’. They were silently encouraging by hanging in there during the many showings and the waiting. I held true to my beliefs and knowledge of the industry and they stood right there with me. It meant everything to me and I forever grateful.

Being an agent is A LOT of blood, sweat, and tears. It can bring you to your knees, literally. I encourage any agent who ever feels defeated to keep pressing for the A-ha moments, they WILL come and you will know wholeheartedly that you are on the right path ❤️

This one right here, this one made me put everything I know about RE to the test. Before I could get Showingtime set up completely, I had Agents scheduling showings. One after another, back to back. A few snuck in before I could even block time.

My phone rang nonstop, text messages were coming so fast I literally had to pull my car over and take a breath. We went active at 7pm, I had two Offers in my inbox by 8am the next morning…and they kept coming.

I needed a plan.

I sat down in my pjs, mentally drained, and put every detail of every offer on an Excel spreadsheet. Ok I can breathe.

Oh look, this Offer is promising. I stopped.

In the excitement and anticipation it is easy to cave. As I have grown in this business, it has taught me patience, to lean into my clients and PARTNER with them, to read the room, to know when to hold them, know when to fold them, known when to walk away, and DEFINITELY when to run.

We were positioned perfectly for a first timer, fixer upper or an investor. Challenging all around the board for those who submitted offers. I spent the entire day on calls negotiating. One call after another and back again. It was exciting and exhausting at the same time but both sides got what we wanted and more 46hrs later. What a ride!

A HUGE shoutout to everyone who showed, called, text, submitted offers, and hung in there until the very end. This is a very tough business and everyone fought a good fight. Kuddos 👏

What I learned: Do not let a multiple offer situation deter you from submitting your highest and best as a Buyer’s Agent (we are the Seller), and take a breath, walk away and clear your head. You will see things from a different light. This also applies to life.
