In this video, I speak on why I would advise against real estate investing if you are feeling FOMO or just the pressure to do it cause you feel like you are the only one not doing it.

Good For The Sake Of Good

Lately, I have put a lot of thought into the concept of good. Many of our ways of raising kids and educating them revolve around rewards.

If they act the way we want them to, they get rewarded. If they do well in school, they get rewarded with good grades.

As simple as that seems, the same idea prevails through adult structures.

Karma, in the simple way I understand it. Will reward a person with good if they do good to others.

In religions, doing good in this life will reward you with a heaven of sorts in the afterlife.

Do good in your corporate job, and you may get rewarded with a raise.

All this leads to the question I've been thinking about. Can a person naturally do good without being rewarded for it?

Why do we teach through punishment and reward? Is there a better way?

I believe the most significant good a person can do is to do good for the sake of good. Without any hint of a reward for doing it.

Nor any concept of punishment if he doesn't do it.

The greatest good is if the act stands as its own merit. And its purpose is outside of other people's judgment.

What are your thoughts?

Sushi For Christmas?

My family has a history of making up new and wild traditions. Years ago, my dad created Creepy Crepes for Halloween.

It was a fun way for everyone to come together, eat food, and bring their own fillings. Who doesn't like eating crepes while dressed up as Dracula?!

Well, it's time I stepped up my game. I wish I could take all the credit for the idea, but I did have a small part in it.

My family and I love food, and we also love hanging out with our family here in Charlotte.

We were together recently and wanted to plan the next to get together. I don't know about you, but we were fed-up(pun intended) with ordering in.

We wanted to spice it up! So we talked about making something together that would be fun, like the Creepy Crepes idea!

As we talked about food, it came around to sushi. It had been a while since we stuffed ourselves full of sushi.

So we decided we would have a sushi night. Where we could all make sushi together and eat until we couldn't move!

Our schedules are busy from time to time, so the next time we could get together would be a few days before Christmas.

So unintentionally created a new and funky tradition that we may carry on every year. Christmas Sushi Night!

Do you have any fun family holiday events you do every year?

[Myth] You Don’t Have to Depersonalize Your Home

It may be your home in name but that doesn’t mean you get to do what you want with it. Not if you want to sell it for top dollar that is.

Watch this video so I can explain why you want to depersonalize your home when selling it.

The Christmas Tree Test

I will probably get in a lot of trouble for sharing my wife’s dirty little secret but I just have to! It’s just too good!

This is specifically for anyone that is house hunting. Whether it’s your first home, you are upsizing, or you’re downsizing.

When my wife and I go house hunting there are a few things on our list that we are looking for.

We’ve bought and lived in enough homes by now that we got the list pretty dialed in.

One thing that is on our list that might not be on many others is my wife’s Christmas Tree Test.

Anytime we go to look at a home, she has to be able to envision where the Christmas tree will go.

The house MUST be Christmas tree friendly! The tree has to have a place it can be proudly displayed with all of our ornaments collected over the years.

And it has to be somewhere, where it won’t be in the way or a tripping hazard.

Yes, the final test for us to buy a home is if a Christmas tree will have a place to be during the holiday season!

Does anyone else have an unusual or interesting standard when you’re house hunting?

Plan For The End Before You Start!

In my Lifestyle Method, one of the first steps is to plan out your entire upsize move!

When you decide to sell, there are a few things that your mind goes to first. And that allows other things to slip through the cracks.

Unless you have someone to help you plan everything from the start so nothing gets forgotten!

Is It Christmas Without Snow?!

My wife and I spent 8 years in Alaska before moving to the lower 48.

During that time I worked out in the snow and cold most of every winter during those years.

When we left for warmer weather and more sunlight. I never thought I would miss snow.

After being in the south for over 5 years now, and rarely seeing snow in the winter. I can honestly say I miss it!

As odd as it may seem, it is pretty hard for me to get into the Christmas spirit without snow.

That might have something to do with the fact that we lived in North Pole, AK all those years. Anyways, I digress…

There is something magical about snow. It’s so white, pure, and seems to brighten up an otherwise gloomy and cold time of the year.

If there is one thing I wish for, for this Christmas. It would be to have a white Christmas with snow!

How do you feel about snow?
