Trying to Buy a Home During the Government Shutdown?

Don’t panic—here’s what you need to know:

If the shutdown drags on and agencies don’t receive funding, here’s what that could mean:

⚠️ FHA & VA loans → Applications stay open, but processing can slow way down. Some closings may be delayed.
⚠️ IRS verifications → These may pause entirely until funding resumes, creating a bottleneck for certain loans.
⚠️ Flood insurance → New FEMA policies may not be issued, which can stall closings in flood zones.
✅ Conventional loans → Usually move forward without interruption.

Bottom line: Even in a prolonged shutdown, loans don’t disappear—they just take longer. Stay Intouch with your lender and agent so you can stay above the noise.
