Hard for me to say no to good pizza... stopped by the NEW in over the weekend with friends who were visiting from out of town. The Shroom City pizza and the fries were🔥 Highly recommend the hot honey ranch dipping sauce 🤌

Looking Glass Falls, Pisgah Forest📍

The grueling climb up the Blue Ridge Parkway to Mount Pisgah on a bike is all about effort and motion. Then, descending down US 276 toward Brevard, NC is a blur of speed—often exceeding 40 mph—with little patience to stop. Looking Glass Falls sits just off this road, a spot I’ve always rushed past on a bike.

Yesterday on Christmas, with no bike and no rush, I finally stopped. It was quiet and peaceful. It was a moment worth slowing down for.

The leaves are out of control this year! This incredible viewpoint looks across 3 states - Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee.

This is one of the most famous and recognizable homes in the United States. Aptly named Fallingwater, it was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and its construction was completed in 1939.

I was coincidentally staying down the street in Ohiopyle, PA and ventured over to tour the home which kind of feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere (the way the original owner wanted it). Walking about the home feels kind of sketchy since it has this crazy cantilever design, which is now sagging, and juts out over the waterfall. I found out later the trellis off the living room has collapsed multiple times. Most of the home would likely be down creek if they didn’t do a tremendous amount of maintenance on it. Its original cost was $155,000 which would be more than $3,000,000 adjusted for inflation. Who knows how many millions they have spent to maintain it.

My favorite part was the furniture, also designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and how it was integrated into the home. I snapped some photos where I could but most of the home can’t be photographed. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area!
