North Carolina has achieved its highest-ever ranking on CNBC's annual list of the "Best States for Business," coming in at No. 2.

The state received high marks on several key measures, including economy and workforce, but fell short on areas such as life, health and inclusion. The news service revealed neighboring Virginia as the top-ranked state.

Charlotte is one of the top real estate markets for iBuyers.

A new analysis by Redfin on the current state of the housing market found that tech-enabled real estate companies, including iBuyers, are making offers to buy homes based on algorithms. And they're particularly active in Raleigh and Charlotte's real estate markets.

The analysis showed that iBuyers are becoming more active in real estate markets where they've placed operations, following the second quarter of 2020 in which there were few transactions due to the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.

However, the majority of real estate transactions are still outside of iBuyer purchases. Charlotte, just behind Raleigh as a top market for iBuyer activity, saw 2.7% of homes sold in the first quarter acquired by an iBuyer.
