Safety!! The top priority of a seller that doesn’t always make the top of the list. How can you stay safe when your home is on the market?

Whether you are selling your home with an agent or on your own, these steps will help:

Removing all medications out of conspicuous places, pack up your jewelry, ask for a preapproval letter and verify it with that lender that submitted it and never show your home alone (those last two are especially important for FSBO’s).

Love letters can be risky in real estate, and NAR has warned about the fair housing issues for years. But that doesn’t mean the human side of a transaction disappears.

Sometimes what helps win in multiple offers is not a gushy letter. It’s a good agent who knows how to explain the important parts of the buyer’s situation without crossing legal lines.

Real estate is personal. You just need to handle the personal part the right way.

I lost out on a listing appointment! It doesn’t bother me because that Seller and I were not a good fit.

But it is important that homeowners interview several agents and watch out for the ones that want to “buy” your listing.

They will cost you time and money and make your time on the market rough.
