New plumbing in an older house. Joists should not be cut or drilled in the center 1/3rd. And should not be longer than 1/3rd of the depth of the lumber. Some trades (hvac,electrical,plumbing) do not know the rules for cutting and notching. Or they just don’t care. Be mindful of who you hire to perform updates to your home.

Not all contractors are created the same. I’ve said it, and said it again. The floor company that installed LVP on the steps didn’t take into account the requirements for a 10 inch tread or 9 inch with a 1 inch nosing. 3/4 of an inch off doesn’t sound like much until you’re walking down the stairs and your heel is catching. This could lead to a fall not to mention it is no longer in compliance.

So what do you think about the water dispersement on this build? There are no gutters on the home so all of the water will drop onto the roof of the deck and it is sloped toward the house. This will cause a large amount of water to deposit where the deck roof and house meet. This one scares me. Probability of water intrusion and wood rot 💯.
