Originally from the mountains of western North Carolina, I learned to appreciate certain small-town values—a strong work ethic, close-knit relationships, and a regard for fidelity. However, after moving to Charlotte in 2008 to attend The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, I fell in love with nearly all the city has to offer, particularly the diversity among its people. Since attaining my m

aster’s degree and calling Charlotte my permanent home, I have also worked as an eighth grade science teacher in the local school district. In my spare time, I enjoy running and biking around town or hiking with my dogs.
