Three years ago, Jack and I were discussing writing an offer on this Lake Norman lake property. As our discussions ensued, one of my fave clients reached out from Boston to tell me they wanted to write an offer sight unseen on the SAME property. 🙈
I’ll never take a house my clients want. 🥹 They were also completely unfazed in writing a crazy offer that beat out 13 other buyers…so I wrote it up for them, and we were quickly under contract SIGHT UNSEEN. Side bar:our present lake property popped up days later.I am convinced that nothing good meant for me will pass me by. ✨
Fast forward just three years, they realized the season their family was in, meant they just weren’t getting here as often as they wanted 🛶
We listed it. Multiple offers were submitted. And we just closed yesterday for $550,000 over asking. 🤗 Their crazy decision three years ago ended up giving them a cool $1M return. 😳
So here’s the moral of the story:
A special property remains a special property regardless of market conditions. In Real Estate, we say location, location, location. But I think there’s more to it. Jack and I have been blessed over the decades in finding what he calls “diamond properties”. This home was one of those. 💎
A diamond will always hold its value. It will hopefully always give you a return. If you’re given the chance to buy a diamond property, give it your all and do it. 💥
We put some good strategy in our positioning & marketing for this unique listing. We weren’t the fanciest house by far, or the biggest. By capitalizing on the unique features AND pricing to hopefully generate multiple offers, my sellers ended up being thrilled with the outcome. 🥂
It brings me tremendous joy to know I got to participate in helping my clients reap such a great profit. They also had the most delightful three years of lake life. Everything works out for a reason. 🏠 This property was meant for them for just a season. And now a new family gets to create special memories.
