I think anyone who was old enough remembers how they felt that day. It was a flood of overwhelming emotions—deep sadness, terror, fear for my children/family, and an unforgettable sense of hopelessness.⁠

I remember when we received the pills "just in case the nuclear plant was hit." My dad came up with a plan for us to take our pontoon boat to the Catawba dam where he would pick us up, because, as many of you remember, Brawley School Road was a complete parking lot every day and there was no other way off the peninsula. At the time, I was at my educational store, Edu-Quest, doing an early restocking. I rarely turned the TV on, but that morning I had the news on to pass the time when I saw what was happening. Still, I remember that feeling like it was yesterday. It still brings me to tears if I dwell on it too long. ⁠

I will never forget that day, and I hope and pray our country never does either. My thoughts and prayers remain with all of the families and lost souls.⁠

Each one of our team members brings something great to the table, and not just experience in real estate! We find that life and work experiences outside of real estate bring even more to the table.

The head honcho, Christy Allen, started her career as a teacher, which taught her organization and the ability to teach and guide others. She then ran an educational supply store in Mooresville (Edu-Quest, if you’re old enough to remember it!), where she learned about managing employees and running a business. Now, with well over 20 years of experience, her expertise extends beyond real estate. She has remodeled houses, developed subdivisions, managed Airbnbs, and much more, all of which help make the team well-rounded.

Bekah Crabtree started out as a waitress (at Big Daddy’s, for those who might remember her there back in the day), which taught her how to be efficient and work quickly. Working as a transaction coordinator then helped her develop strong organizational skills and learn the intricacies of real estate contracts, negotiations, and getting deals to the closing table. Now, as a broker, she utilizes these skills daily for her clients.

Cieanna Powell has a background in accounting and finance, so she knows numbers, and she isn’t afraid to crunch them! Being analytical is important when it comes to investing in real estate, and knowing how the numbers work is a must. Cieanna uses her experience to help her clients understand the math behind it all!

Johnny Meadows, who has been a home appraiser for over 30 years, brings extensive knowledge of appraisals, including which upgrades actually count and how comparable properties stack up. He is a huge asset when it comes to understanding how appraisers may evaluate our listings, so we can make sure our listings will appraise and our sellers are doing valuable upgrades.

Chloe Freeze, with experience in land surveying and roofing, is our land expert. She knows the ins and outs of land and the complications that can come with it, especially with land surveying. She also works with Race City Roofing and understands how expensive roof repairs can be and how a roof can affect the value of a home!
