Most people have never heard of this — the world's oldest restaurant has been open since 1364. And it is in Poland.
Wierzynek Restaurant in Kraków has been serving guests continuously since 1364, making it one of the oldest operating restaurants in the world. It was founded by a wealthy merchant named Mikołaj Wierzynek, who hosted a legendary feast for European kings and princes in that same year.
Over 650 years later, it is still open. Still in Kraków. Still serving guests in the same historic building on the main market square.
Kings, emperors, presidents, and world leaders have all dined there. The guest list reads like a history of Europe.
Drop a 🇵🇱 if you're proud of Poland's incredible history!
