Kicking off the holiday season with community spirit! 🎄 🎁

The RGA team spent the day helping set up for the Charlottesville Toy Lift happening on December 5. This amazing, volunteer-run event that makes sure local kids (newborn–8th grade) have a brighter holiday. All toys collected stay right here in our community, supporting families in Charlottesville and the surrounding counties.

Bohdie was recently on-site at a development to oversee project progress and ensure compliance with environmental standards. During his visit, he conducted a thorough inspection of stormwater management areas, identifying any potential issues that could impact the site’s drainage and sensitive areas. Bohdie also took time to coordinate with key partners, including Habitat for Humanity, to align on shared project goals, and checked in with the site Contractor to review development timelines and address any construction concerns. His proactive approach and collaborative mindset continues to support the success and integrity of the project.

After 40 years at RGA, Jeff Powell is officially retiring—though we’re still not convinced he won’t show up one morning out of habit.

Jeff started his career in the field as a survey crew member, worked his way up to crew chief, and eventually moved inside to take on computation worksheets, stakeout prep, and probably every other task no one else wanted. He’s been a mentor to many and a master of the well-timed sarcastic remark.

Sure, he could get a little fired up now and then—but that just meant he cared (and that you probably deserved it). His mix of precision, dry humor, and zero tolerance for nonsense has kept us all sharp—and often laughing.

We’re grateful for all Jeff has given to RGA: decades of knowledge, dedication, and personality that can’t be replaced. Enjoy retirement, Jeff—you’ve more than earned it!

As the first president of the Monticelo Chapter apart of the Virginia Association of Surveyors, his leadership helped shape the profession across the Commonwealth.

🎮🚁 Pix4D Demo Day Recap! 🎮🚁
We had an incredible time at our Pix4D Demo Day in Charlotte, NC hosted by Duncan Parnell, which showcased cutting-edge solutions for drone data processing and terrestrial scanning with Pix4Dcatch!

The day wrapped up with an exciting drone photogrammetry and LiDAR demonstration. We’re always looking for new technology to take our data collection to the next level, and this event was a great opportunity to explore the latest innovations!

This week, our engineering team has been providing construction oversight for a stormwater management facility conversion, ensuring the basin is built per design. As part of the process, we also conducted turbidity testing during dewatering to confirm compliance with water quality standards. Just another week in the field!
