According to the American Land Title Association's (ALTA) Critical Issues Study: Measuring the Complexity of Title Production (March 2026), more than half of title professionals spend at least 11 hours every month on fraud prevention efforts, and nearly 15% dedicate more than 50 hours per month to identifying and stopping threats such as wire fraud, identity theft, forged deeds, and seller impersonation before closing.
