The unpredictability of real estate and owning a business is what keeps me going 🏃‍♀ïļðŸ’Ļ

I don't always know where my day is going to take me - from my office to driving up mountaintops to walking acres of farmland and then back to the office again...I would be bored sitting at a desk all day, every day.

But it's not the unpredictability that made me choose and stick with this field. It's the flexibility. Flexibility to work on the days I have childcare. Flexibility to work from home when my kids are sick. Flexibility to travel when I want to. And flexibility to take on the workload I can handle at whatever stage of life I'm in.

The balance does not exist!

In a "perfect" world, my time would be equally split between my work life and my home life. But real life is unpredictable at times, particularly in real estate and motherhood, so I've let go of that idea.

Right now, I'm very needed at home. My kids are little and a good amount of my energy goes to them. It doesn't mean I can't work, because I do. But sometimes it means figuring things out with a moment's notice:

Kid up sick all night but today I have a new client meeting - how do we make this work? A double open house weekend but my daughter has dance lessons - where am I needed the most?

It all comes down to a solid support system and figuring out what works best for the stage of life you are in. Because one day, my kids won't need me as much. But will I look back and wish I had done something different or spent my time elsewhere? Well, that's why I built my business the way that I did - so I don't miss the moments that matter.

ðŸšŦ Over promising and under delivering is something to avoid at all costs 🙅ðŸŧ‍♀ïļ

It's my goal to sell your house for the highest amount of money in the shortest amount of time. But that is market-dependent.

Sure I could list any house for $400,000. But if comps, current market conditions, and local economic factors don't support it, then it's going to sit.

It's my job to sell your house. And sometimes that means having deeper conversations and keeping things realistic. And while the market decides a home's value, it's also my job to inform you of your options and guide you smoothly through this process ðŸĄ

Making mom friends is hard! Especially in a new city. When we moved here, I'm not exaggerating when I say I knew 𝘇ð—ēð—ŋ𝗞 people. It's a little daunting to start over and find your sense of community after living comfortably in the same place for 25 years...and doing it all while pregnant with my first baby felt impossible.

And once my daughter arrived, I found it even harder to get out of the house to even just talk to other adults. I was incredibly lonely and craved that village everybody raves about.

And there's a reason behind why people say, "𝘐ð˜ĩ ð˜ĩð˜Ē𝘎ð˜Ķð˜ī ð˜Ē 𝘷𝘊𝘭𝘭ð˜Ēð˜Ļð˜Ķ ð˜ĩ𝘰 ð˜ģð˜Ē𝘊ð˜īð˜Ķ ð˜Ē ð˜Īð˜Đ𝘊𝘭ð˜Ĩ." Our friends, family, and community not only love on our children, but they lift the moms up too. It's a network of support during a time in life like no other: postpartum.

It wasn't until I went back to work and my kids started at this amazing school that I found my people. My village. My sense of community.

And I started Working Moms Realty with that sense of community at the forefront of everything. What are we without people in our lives? What are we without providing support for others and accepting it when we need it most?

ðŸĶ„ Does the perfect brokerage exist? Honestly, probably not. But there are reasons behind why an agent joins one versus another.

My goal has always been to build a community that makes life a little easier for working mothers. But also with the intent that new agents don't feel lost. And even as we grow, that's something that will never change.
