Hopefully, this storm wont be bad, but just in case, let’s get prepared!

Severe storm prep tips:
1. Keep devices charged and only use them if necessary
2. Have a weather radio that is battery operated
3. Make sure you have gasoline for your generator in case of a power outage
4. If you lose power don’t open your freezer or fridge
5. Have bottled water on hand for drinking and for pets
6. Have items on hand for eating that do not require cooking
7. Have cash on hand
8. Secure items in your yard that could become air born (ie: turn those trampolines upside down)
9. Clean out the most inner room of your home and prepare take shelter quickly
10. Shower before the storms come.
11. Flashlights with fresh batteries
12. Place all important documents in a freezer baggie and put in a place where they can be easily found.

I’m beyond sad to hear of the passing of Kathy Carenza. Her and her family made a huge impact on me while I helped them find a home. They were the sweetest family and so tight-knit!

Did you know?

Chattanooga was the birthplace of the tasty snack cake, the MoonPie. A coal miner asked a Chattanooga Bakery traveling salesman for a snack “as big as the moon” in 1917 and the MoonPie was soon born.

The home of the MoonPie is on Manufacturers Road and, over 100 years later, is still producing the snack cake.
