Sometimes you walk out of a shelter with a dog. Sometimes you walk out with a reminder. 🍀

I went to McKamey last week to visit, not to adopt. But by the time I left, I couldn’t stop thinking about the shelter in San Antonio where I met my dog four years ago. He was never supposed to be mine. And now I can’t picture my life without him. 🥹

That’s what every one of these animals is to somebody. They just haven’t met them yet.

There are over 600 animals at McKamey on any given day. But, you don’t have to adopt an animal home to help.

Foster an animal till they find their forever home. Walk a dog on your lunch break. Drop off a bag of food, or even just a blanket. Sit with a cat for twenty minutes. Share a post. All of it adds up more than you’d think.

McKamey has been showing up for Chattanooga since 2008. The least we can do is show up back.

5842 Northshore was under contract in under two weeks, and is officially sold!🍀

The sellers trusted the process. They asked good questions. They didn’t take it personally when the number was different from what they hoped for. And that’s the part I want to talk about. 📍

Here’s what a lot of people don’t realize. Agents don’t set your list price. We pull the comps, run the ARV, and lay out where the market actually is. From there, it’s your call. But the sellers who really hear us out and price it based on today, not on what their neighbor sold for in 2022, are the ones getting to closing.💵

And I get it, letting go of that number is hard. You’ve lived in that house. You’ve put money into it. You know what it’s worth to YOU. But you’re not the one buying it. Somebody paying upwards of 7% interest is, and they’re doing math you’re not doing.

That’s not a bad thing. It just means the sellers who acknowledge have a better chance in this market. 🏡

Hey y'all — we have some fun news to share.

We are going to have a booth at the 4th Annual Halloween EEKstravaganza on Saturday, October 24 at Soddy Municipal Park. It runs from 2 to 7 PM, and if you've never been, this event is honestly one of the best things that happens in the area every October.

The KELCURT Foundation and the Soddy-Daisy Community Library put it on every year, and it just keeps getting bigger. This year they're expecting over 50 vendors, food trucks, live music, costume contests, candy, games — basically everything you'd want in a family Halloween afternoon packed into one park.

We're going to be set up out there with the rest of the community, and we would genuinely love it if you stopped by. We have some fun plans and can't wait to see all the costumes everyone shows up with. If you are looking to start your Halloween celebrations early, stop by!
