A little introduction through a place that will always be part of who I am. 🇸🇾
I’m still pretty new to sharing on this page, so before it fills up with real estate, Chattanooga, and everything in between, I wanted to share a little about me.
I’m half Syrian and half American, and I spent most of my childhood growing up in Syria. I moved there when I was around 3 and lived there until I was 13.
I left 15 years ago, and for a long time, I never thought I would have the chance to go back in my lifetime.
Getting to return now as an adult has been hard to put into words. I’ve been able to revisit places tied to my childhood, walk streets I remember, spend time with family, and experience so many familiar places again through completely different eyes.
There have also been plenty of little moments along the way. Walking through the souqs of Damascus, visiting historic sites, drinking way too much coffee, and of course getting Bakdash ice cream. 🤍
There’s something surreal about returning to a place you knew as a child 15 years later. So much can change, but then there are moments that feel strangely familiar, almost like no time has passed at all.
I think “home” can mean a lot of different things throughout our lives. Sometimes it’s where you live now, and sometimes it’s a place that helped shape who you became.
As I build this page, I want to share more than real estate. I want to share Chattanooga, local places, homes, and pieces of life along the way.
This is a little piece of mine. 🇸🇾🤍
